Location: Columbia, MD
Clearance:  TS/SCI Full Scope poly

The CND Specialist provides primary Computer Network Defense (CND) services for government classified networks; performs Continuous Monitoring of Information Systems within an enterprise to ensure security readiness; supports and maintains risk mitigation of the Enterprise security tools for CND and information security continuous monitoring functions; and proactively and reactively responds to security incidents in support of the NSA/CSS Information Systems Incident Response Team (NISIRT).

Candidate shall perform Computer Network Defense analysis and serve as critical components of the 24/7 Information Assurance integrated operations team. These vital resources will identify new opportunities for active/holistic defense against adversarial activities based on IA vulnerability information and will work closely with the NISIRT to ensure experiences, risk mitigation techniques, IA guidance, and best practices are brought to bear on the most critical threats on a continuous basis.

Candidate shall perform computer network defense (CND) activities to both proactively and reactively detect attacks to:
- Ensure IT infrastructure information security
- Detect and monitor current activities
- Perform forensic analysis of past activities
- Continuously monitor and prioritize current problems
- Analyze and respond to unauthorized events or activity
- Protect, mitigate, and defend against intrusions or attacks on client’s networks or information systems
Candidate shall perform network and system vulnerability analysis, and apply repressive security measures/counter-measures and security-related protocols and procedures for networks, systems, subsystems, applications, and users

Candidate shall:
- Alert management and other stakeholders of critical security vulnerabilities
- Record and chronicle security-related incidents as they become known
- Report known problems, root causes, workarounds, risk mitigation measures, and solutions to the knowledge management function, in accordance with required reporting standards.
Candidate shall perform operational network discovery to ensure all assets connected to the network are known and authorized.
