Description:
Description Software engineer/developer to work in an agile and fast paced development environment supporting analysts whose mission is to solve unique and challenging intelligence problems.
Tasks include: automatically retrieving and ingesting data, web application development for search and discovery, development and implementation of analytical models, and maintenance and enhancement of existing custom applications. The developer will be part of a small multi-disciplinary team and have the unique opportunity to interact directly with analysts and other technologist to ensure applications and tools meet the needs of the customer. Must be willing to deploy OCONUS on occasional trips.
Required Experience: B.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science or related field and 2+ years experience in design and implementation of classified web applications and 2+ years experience in scripting (preferably Perl or Python). Experience in with SQL, Oracle (PL/SQL), or SQL Server (T-SQL). Experience with modern high level programming language: C#, C++, Java, Visual Basic Experience with scripting: Perl, Python Experience in web development: HTML, JavaScript, Adobe Flash/Flex, Silverlight, and DHTML We desire a motivated, self driven team player who can interact well with others and advise/consult with other team members on software development related issues. Desired Experience: Experience with IC analysis tools (e.g., iBase/Analyst’s Notebook, Palantir, etc.) Experience with Hadoop and MapReduce Experience with ESRI products (ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server (SDE), etc.) Experience with geospatial data and the development of geospatially based analytical models. Experience with text processing: natural language processing (NLP), named entity recognition (NER), entity disambiguation, entity extraction, part-of-speech (POS) tagging, searching (e.g., Lucene), topic extraction, summarization, clustering, etc. Location: Washington Navy Yard.
